R. Scott Wallis is a novelist, pop culture podcaster, and serial entrepreneur who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once upon a time, he had all of the jobs—from room service waiter to owning his own award-winning men’s clothing store—but these days he works only for himself.

Scott grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia, studied journalism and public relations at Radford University, then lived and worked in the Washington, DC area for 25 years. There, he served as an assistant and advance person for the Vice President of the United States; worked as a creative director for a political think tank; planned large-scale meetings and special events as an independent contractor; founded and operated an organic baby clothing manufacturing company; created the Swish Edition, a popular pop culture podcast; and, opened and managed an award winning men’s clothing and accessories store.

He is fully aware that his laundry list of experiences are pretty much all over the map, but he had a ball doing all of it.

And he learned A LOT about life along the way.

Scott made a big, life-altering move to Las Vegas in 2018, where he feels most perfectly at home in the desert southwest. He continues to produce and co-host the Swish Edition with his life-long best friend Kristin and he writes darkly funny crime novels under his own name, R. Scott Wallis, and the pen name Macon Lence. He has also released three medium-steamy romantic comedy novels under the name Ava Blades.

But most of all, Scott, Macon, and Ava try to stay out of trouble…but that’s not easy, because—duh—they live in Sin City.

When he’s not chasing jackpots, eating in fabulous restaurants, or seeing over-the-top shows at his favorite casino resorts, Scott loves to cook, binge watch television shows he’s seen a dozen times, collect original pop art, sail the high seas (he’s been on 31 cruises so far, to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Central & South America, Mexico, and through the Panama Canal), and explore all that the southwest United States has to offer. Despite his myriad adventures, Scott is happiest hanging out with his husband and their two rescue dogs at their home, ‘two and a half songs away’ from the Las Vegas Strip.
